I came across a ladybug. She was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Luckily, she was saved and received a second chance. Just like most summer afternoons my afternoon cup of coffee is spent floating around in the water. I just so happened to look over and there she was, struggling for dear life. With no leaf in sight the poor girl just kept swimming. I put a finger near her and she was able to grasp on to it. She spent a few moments crawling around my hand. I counted the black dots on her back and there were seven. She quickly found her way to the tip of my finger to catch some rays from the sun to dry her wings off. It wasn’t quite what she was looking for. She didn’t seem comfortable. I think she needed to be in her element. I found a nearby area where I was able to safely let her do her thing and I sat there watching her. It was pretty amazing how she kept trying so hard to fly. After many failed attempts she just kept trying. During those failed attempts she just waited patiently for another opportunity. The sun got stronger and her urge to keep trying got even stronger. She kept flapping. Stronger and stronger. She did this over and over for a while. I let her be. She took flight in no time.

During the time that I was sitting there with my coffee watching her do her thing I thought about a few things. The first thing that came to my mind was that she was never taught to keep fighting. After she had her second chance at life nature took over and it became natural for her to just keep flapping her wings until they were strong enough for her to take flight. She was patient. She knew it was up to her now to let the sun dry her wings and when she was able she would take off. There was no one there to do this for her. She had to figure everything out on her own with the help of nature.

Imagine if humans did the same? Imagine. When life doesn’t go as planned, imagine if we went outside in nature and allowed our body, mind and soul to interact as one and let everything flow as it should? We would get all the answers we need with the help of nature. Everything is already within us. We are constantly seeking outside source and it is all right within us. We are source. Granted, the ladybug did get saved from drowning in the water. That is where I had come in. She didn’t give up. After that she took her second chance. She never gave up.

Life is a lot like this for us humans. We get second chances at something in life all the time. Every single day. Everyday is a new day to start fresh as long as we look at is an opportunity to do so. Our ego likes to step in and redirect us. The ladybug doesn’t have an ego. She just went with what she knew. Maybe something didn’t work out for you so far this week or even in the past few months…years… What is it that you would like to start over with? Don’t change the goal. Change the way you reach it. In other words, your path is still leading you on this life journey that is always wanting to be fulfilled, you just need more new learning experiences to help you grow and take flight.

Until next time…
