When most people think of meditation they automatically think that you need to sit Indian style with your hands up in praise and you cannot move.  If you are picturing it in your head right now and you are laughing, that makes me really happy! Life should always be about laughter. Meditation is simply whatever works for you. When we come into meditation we are grounding ourself and allowing oneself to be one within, meaning we are source(our own highest power). We are one within our mind, body and soul without any outside distractions. Simply put, meditation is a place where we bring ourselves into sovereignty and place of being whole within us, oneself.

It is humanly impossible to not get angry and upset. I do, we all do. The trick is to ground ourself back to being happy and filled with love. Love comes from our heart center, the Chakra that sustains our well-being, self-love and love for others, empathy, and forgiveness. Well, that’s a mouth-full! It is a very important space that holds the most abundant energy of all. When our heart chakra is blocked it is very easy for us to be angry and emotionally unbalanced. All these emotions are very normal. I do not think there are many humans that have equally balanced chakras at all times. I believe it is humanly impossible! We are bombarded every single day with people, places and things that have the ability to bring us out of our sovereignty. And, I can sit here and tell you not to let those things happen, however there are times when it is not as controllable as we would like it to be so we must ground ourselves back together. Personally, I like to be barefoot whenever possible. Preferably, outside in a beautiful grass meadow filled with mountains and beaches with singing birds, ocean waves crashing, crickets singing their tunes and I’ll take a little rain sounds too. Sounds wonderful, right?! You and I both know that I live in New York, it is flipping freezing out right now and this state of meditation isn’t really even possible right now. Nor ever, really do we find mountains, beaches and all the beautiful sounds in one place. You see that is where we must think for ourselves, put on some tunes and bring us to that imaginable magical place. There are so many options. There are many meditation frequency sounds out there to help with that.

My good friend and spiritual gal, Jennifer Barrett-Clerkin was one of my first mentors who came into my life about four years ago. She taught me how to meditate and ground myself using solfeggio sounds along with some pretty fabulous sessions. It is an app that I have downloaded on my phone and all the sounds mentioned above are in these frequencies. Of course, there are different frequencies to target different chakras that are blocked. It is something that I still use today as well as teach my clients to do the same. I will never forget my connection with Jenn because she helped me when my father was very unexpectedly passing away. It is also when we discovered my spiritual gifts and the ability to seem hear and feel energy. It is the main reason I am practicing today. People come into our lives and they make a certain mark that is unforgettable. She is absolutely one of them.

There are other ways to meditate and ground. There are so many! Sometimes I like to just close my eyes with my hands on my heart center and breathe deeply in and out until I feel myself becoming whole again. I do this when I feel imbalanced, which happens. Hey, I am human! We all are. It doesn’t happen tons but it happens. Have you ever been in a conversation with someone and you look at them and they have their eyes closed as they are talking to you? Nothing bothersome, just simply calm, cool and collected. That person is most likely not feeling their energy where they’d like and they are just imagining something to bring their peace back. I find myself doing this sometimes. Mostly when I am dealing with an issue on one of my kids behalves. They know that when Momma has her eyes closed it’s at their grace(Wink). Many people like to do yoga, go for a walk or any other types of exercise to ground themselves and balance their energy fields. There really are so many ways! The most important way is to find one that works best for you. Something that may be great for someone else may not be a great fit for you. As long as you find a way to bring yourself back to a state of balance and wholeness that is all that matters.

When a client comes to me for sessions we find what makes them feel best. There are so many techniques that can be used. Naturally, the energy healer in me becomes a conduit of their energy fields and my absolute favorite technique is in the form of Reiki, which I practice daily.  When someone comes to me for life coaching and/or healing my table is our best friend. I make sure the environment is relaxing and free. I like to use sound bowls to target certain areas of their field which I am intuitively lead to and we take it from there! My main goal is to find the blockages and then we work our way through them. There’s always lots of talking and breathing along the way. I use breathing mechanisms as a way to “let go” of whatever is not serving their highest good. Mediation and grounding is a lifelong skill that is so important to start getting comfortable with. It is never a one type fits all and it certainly is absolutely not for everyone. So if you think of that Indian stylish image in your head sitting as still as possible and that is what is holding you back, I promise there are so many ways to ground! Finding something that works best is a start and I promise it is so worth it. We are never stuck in our emotions and there’s always a way to bring ourself back to our natural state of well-being. Balance is always key. Go out and sit in the sun for a bit, let the light hit you and imagine white light flowing through your body, one of my favorites and the simplest!

I’d love to hear what works best for you!

Love and Light, Always!
