Our Paths are always changing. Be you, Be free, Just for today.

Just for today.

The title on my socials gets changed often, probably way too often if I must say for myself. My question is, Why a title? Why can’t I just be me? Society has put so much pressure on us to claim a title. A title which we are then bound to and must stick to. The truth is, and I’m not sure if this resonates with you; my path is always changing. My path has changed so many times over the past that I cannot even keep up!

My thoughts today have been inspired by a new friend of mine, Henery X. Fellow writer friends, look him up. He’s amazing. Someone who I have met in a writers group. See, my path seems to be changing once again. Or is it? I’ve always been a writer. I write everyday. Most of them have never been shared. Writing has been the reason my confidence grew so much back in the day during my middle school years. Those days where I was struggling to figure out who I was. Those days, and still today where I can’t figure out a math problem if my life depended on it. Tests, I still get anxiety thinking about them! Have I ever told you about the path I was once on when I wanted to sell insurance? It took eleven times to pass that test. Yes, eleven! It was a wonderful experience to work in an office, get dressed everyday for work and carry my expensive work bag around. That’s not who I am. I needed to experience that path in order to figure that out. I can go on and on with a few more path changes. The truth is, we all do not come into this life knowing what we want. If you’re like me and your path is always changing, kudos to you my friend. Kudos to never giving up on finding yourself.

We all want to be someone. We all want a title to claim. It’s in our nature. Paths are given to us for a reason. It’s always up to us to follow it. We need them to experience and become wiser. We only learn from what we experience. These experiences cannot be taught by another, we need to experience, grow and learn from our ever changing paths. To many I’d be deemed as unsuccessful; Why? In todays world we are told we need to go to college and make as much money as we can. Because that’s what society has made us believe. Society has taught us that success comes from the amount of money you’re making. If that were true, I’d be the most unsuccessful human on this earth! Being happy is most important and knowing your worth. There’s no dollar amount that will ever take that place of being happy and accomplished. Back in the day people traded. We had a barter and trading system and that is when people truly loved beyond measure. It was a time long ago when people looked out for one another. No one had a title. Everyone was just as important as anyone else in their community.

To conclude my thoughts for today and for the week, think about your paths. One path leads to another and so on. If you haven’t had many paths, that’s okay. Maybe you have come into this life knowing exactly what you wanted or maybe you are scared to find out. Either way it is okay. What about the path you’re on now? Is it leading you to happiness? Is your heart filled with love for yourself. Yes, I said yourself. The only person you need to show up for is yourself, not anyone else. In the end that’s all that matters. So, why a title? Who are we giving ourself a title for? That title is not mine for I am everything I want to be for today, and JUST FOR TODAY.

Love and Light, always!

Diana
